In this week's Sleepy Hollow podcast, we can't understand why the writers think we want this much Katrina...ever. Also, we love Orlando Jones' understated performance, but still don't trust Captain Irving. And we love all the shade from Abbie and how she's just about out of fucks to give.

While I enjoyed it enough, especially the Abbie/Jenny/Irving story, it wasn't what we as the majority of SH viewers expect. It was like watching a completely different show or a show you're acquainted with but a backdoor pilot is obviously being pushed. This whispery, BS character of Katrina cannot be fleshed out; it is too late. Of course, in a desperate attempt to make Katrina relevant, the writers dress her in sexy modern clothes. Sure, she's good for a random woody or two, but she's blah at her best. The Ich/Kat part of this ep was like a dull version of any generic procedural. Even the special effects didn't save it. You don't have to want the leads together to realize Katrina has to go, as I could care less about romance in my thrillers; I'm not there for that. Beharie and Mison have undeniable chemistry so that's what we want to see, no matter the context. Peppered in, we can enjoy Jenny, Irving, and even Hawley because they are actually ACTING. Katia Winters is not up for a co-starring role; she is ineffectual and her Katrina is better used only as a plot device for Ichabod's motivations. Lastly, if TPTB wanted to make this person so freaking relevant, they should've done so from the beginning. Keeping her in flashbacks and dream sequences in season one worked, but you can't take a background monotone actress and stick her in the spotlight where the real lead belongs and expect it to work or go unnoticed.
